At Seniors Helping Seniors® Butler County, we have a passion for meeting the needs of seniors in a way that provides both dignity and a sense of camaraderie. Our owner(s) Andrew Spatt, and Mary Spatt firmly believe we can do that through serving seniors in our community, which includes: Fairfield, West Chester, Mason, and surrounding communities.
Husband and wife team, Andrew and Mary Spatt come to this work with a deeply ingrained passion for helping others. They are both from families, which have a foundation for supporting others. It is something they strive to do in every aspect of their lives. This is what ultimately inspired them to open a Seniors Helping Seniors center to help serve seniors and their families throughout Butler County, Ohio.
Seniors Helping Seniors home care matches seniors who want to help with seniors who need a little help. This peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors in need to receive care from someone whom they can trust and relate. At the same time, seniors who want to help are able to remain active in their community and often form strong friendships with the seniors they are caring for.
“We want to make a difference in people’s lives,” shares Mary. “And we know that there is a need for quality, compassionate and supportive care for seniors in our community.”
Andrew and Mary have an intimate understanding of what is required to care for someone as they age. In 2011, Andrew’s father had a heart attack, followed by a stroke a few months later and it became clear he needed extra help. Andrew and Mary were able to move his father right down the street from them, in Fairfield, Ohio to better care for him on a daily basis.
“We were able to help my father keep his house in order, take him to the doctors, help him go grocery shopping, play games, and have him be a part of family events,” shared Andrew. “It made such a significant difference in his life. We want to be that kind of support for other families who either live far away from their loved ones, or who just need that extra hand to make life that much easier.”
Mary grew up in a family of ten children. They lived in five different states due to her dad’s insurance career and finally settled in Durham, North Carolina. Mary has spent most of her professional career in administrative roles in accounting, sales, and payroll. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her family, going for jogs, reading and studying nutrition. Andrew was raised in Woodridge, which is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois and is the youngest of three boys. He received a Bachelors of Science from National Louis University in Business Management. He has had a successful career in the industrial distribution field. He attributes his desire to help others to his mother, who would often care for others in their home who needed some help getting on their feet. Andrew and Mary are both very active in their church, the Fairfield Civitan Club and the Girl Scouts.
